Stones

MET BY A LAKE NEAR THE SUN.

YOUR MOUTH AND EYES, ARMS

AND LEGS, MELTED AS THOUGH

WE’D KNOWN EACH OTHER WELL

AND NEEDED ONLY REKINDLE

WARMTH OF THE FAMILIAR.

AS IF PATIENCE WERE REWARDED

AND NOW WE’D SHARE EVERYTHING.
